Blue Sky Disney is reporting that Up will not have a Toy Story 3 trailer attached, instead they will play a trailer for Disney’s much anticipated fairy-tale, The Princess and the Frog.
This is much like last year’s situation with the Bolt trailer in front of WALL•E so we can expect the TS3 trailer to play with Princess or the Toy Story’s. Speaking of toys, I’m thinking maybe we’ll see a Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D trailer with Up, or maybe with an earlier Disney movie. Think about it, the first of these 3D re-releases comes out two months before Princess. Maybe we’ll get to see both…
Anyways, if the reports are true (and the blog points out the plans could change), this seems to have become a trend, since both animation studios are under Disney, Pixar trailers play with WDAS features and WDAS trailers play with Pixar. It’s all good because Ed Catmull and John Lasseter have been heading both studios, and last year’s Bolt proves that the dream team can make magic happen at both studios.
As a certain Pixar director put it:
"Good things come to those who wait…"
What do you think about this decision?

I think that there will be a TS3 teaser before the re-release of TS, and a full length trailer before the re-release of TS2.

C-3PO: I’d bet on that too, good theory!
This stinks…I was pretty excited about the trailer. I wish they would stick to that tradition. 🙁
Lame.
But Pixar has to help out Disney now. I don’t think this has to do with the trailer not being completed (as was the excuse last year when the Up trailer wasn’t shown). It’s a shame Pixar can’t keep up their tradition of trailer + short + film… Hopefully we’ll see it in front of Toy Story.
I’m excited whether they show a Princess and the Frog trailer or a Toy Story 3 trailer
I’m going to agree with woody, both trailers are super exciting. Although I’m more excited for TS3, but it’ll be worth the wait, no doubt about it!
