It’s not often that Pixar has two big premieres in one week.
We might get two back-to-back Blu-ray releases once or twice a year, and that’s great, but this weekend seems pretty unique. Not only does a brand new short premiere, but the Pixar: 20 25 Years of Animation exhibit also returns to the US.

Monster Truck Mater
The latest installment in the Cars Toons series follows Mater as super star wrestler, The Tormenter. With the help of his tag team partner, Frightening McMean, Mater rises up the ranks to fight his biggest opponent yet. But is this real or just an elaborate Tall Tale?
Catch Monster Truck Mater tonight at 9:30 PM on Disney Channel! Before watching, check out our exclusive interview with co-director Rob Gibbs.

Pixar: 25 Years of Animation
After a successful world tour, Pixar’s exhibit is now back in the United States. In fact, it’s at the Oakland Museum of California — right near the studio’s home. If you’re in the Bay Area, don’t miss the updated display. Dozens of new pieces are now available as we get closer to Pixar’s 25th anniversary.
Pixar: 25 Years of Animation runs from July 31st, 2010 to January 9th, 2011 at the Oakland Museum of California. More information can be found here.
Sunday, August 1st
Bonus: Catch Toy Story 3 in Theatres
It could be your last chance to see Buzz, Woody and the gang on the big screen! Check showtimes to see if it’s still playing in your area.
What are you doing this weekend? Does any of it involve Pixar?

Whoa whoa whoa – Toy Story 3’s theatrical run in the States ends this Sunday???
No, no, no.
I don’t mean to confuse anyone. I’m just saying that it’s got less showtimes and any day now it could stop playing at your theatre,
It should be out of here by Labor Day, though, so some theatres might have it all through August and into September.
I am definitely going tomorrow to the opening of the exhibit, it would be cool if someone was there for the opening, the Walt Disney Museum opening had Diane Disney-Miller there, maybe somebody high could come to the opening, that would be pretty amazing.
nickname510 — Have fun!
Let us know how it went.
Awesome! I’ve been waiting for this since I’ve heard the news back in April! I’ll be there on Sunday, hopefully driving a Pizza Planet truck and holding my Luxo Jr Lamp!
Pixar Builder — Awesome!! 🙂
Did anyone catch the short? It was hilarious!!
I want to find a good matinee, but not one in 3D.
I’m going to be in the Bay Area in a month and plan to make the museum visit as part of my PIXAR day up there.
I wish they’d bring the exhibition to Chicago. Middle America isn’t as backwards as some think: many animators and creators started off here and then moved on.
Saw the new short. Found it very lacking and pretty lame… such a shame…
Hey Guys! For all of us who are going to the the Oakland Museum, we should sign the museum’s guest book with our Pixar Planet screen names! I think it’d be a pretty fun shout out to everyone out there on the site, as sort of our won inside joke.
You can watch the short here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5RSNIV3s3k
The logo at the top makes me curious. Has Pixar got a new logo? Will it premiere with Cars 2 or something?
Anonymous – No, that’s Pixar text from the exhibition. 😉 Cool, right?
