Pixar is heading back to San Diego for this year’s Comic-Con International, but Cars 2 isn’t on the agenda.
Instead, star story man and Dug’s Special Mission director, Ronnie del Carmen, is set to talk about the most important process at Pixar. After all, ‘story is king.’
According to the description found on SDCC’s Friday schedule, Ronnie’s chat will be held in Room 26AB from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. Attendees will have a chance to participate in a Q&A session with the Up story supervisor following his presentation.
Also of note to Pixar fans: talent from Discovery Channel’s (somewhat Pixar related?) Reign of the Dinosaurs will hold a panel on Friday. Although no Pixarians have been confirmed as speakers, this will serve as an exciting first look at the imaginative prehistoric nature documentary.
As mentioned, Cars 2 doesn’t seem to have a significant presence this year. Can we still hope for a Comic-Con trailer? Maybe.
Notice: Reign of the Dinosaurs is not directly affiliated with Disney/Pixar.
Comic-Con International will be held at the San Diego Convention Center from July 22nd-25th. For tickets and information, please check out the official site.
Will you be attending this year?

Uh…sorry to burst your bubble. But Pixar has nothing whatsoever to do with Reign of the Dinosaurs. Other than long ago ex-employees of Disney and Pixar that happened to have worked on it.
Anonymous – “Also of interest to Pixar fans” Are you implying that I shouldn’t be excited for it just because Pixar might not have made it?
Surely not. But anyone promoting it as “made by” or involved with” Pixar is lying. It should read “crew includes former Disney and Pixar employees.”
Let Discovery and Disney/Pixar clear that up. 🙂
They have: No where on the Discovery site does it say Pixar is involved. A few artists who apparently only did minor freelance artwork for them are involved. Some yahoo in the “internet” blew it out of proportion, but it’s just NOT true.

“Discovery Channel teams with the top creative talent from Disney and Pixar to create an unparalleled television event. “
That would be from the press release. Now, notice I never said you were wrong. I’m just waiting for a clearer confirmation.
And you can find that on the Disocvery website: http://press.discovery.com/us/dsc/programs/discovery-channels-upfront-slate/
Now, I don’t have the time to argue over soemthing that’s unverifiable at the moment. Just let it go.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it really isn’t a big deal either way.
It’s clearly a misrepresntation by Discovery to garner attention. none of the people mentioned contributed much to any Pixar production, as evidenced by the Art Of books. It’s a scam.
Anonymous- As far as I can tell, you’re right. But again, I can’t just say that without having a proper source. I have reason to believe that you’re 100% right, though.
