Time for another box office update no?

It has been bumped down to 7th position in the Box Office Mojo User’s Grades, however it is still in first place as the highest rated film of 2007 via BOM User’s Grades. Pretty impressive huh? It has been performing steadily all week with daily grossings of between $3-4 million, however on Friday 13th it had a boost and grossed over $5 million. I would call that quite steady wouldn’t you? Of course it has had some competition from Harry Potter and Transformers but really, they are targeting different audiences. The HP films are getting darker and more violent, thus receiving higher ratings, so parents, although it is still HP, they might be wary to take their smaller children to see it and instead go see Ratatouille. And Transformers, its definitley aimed at the teen/adult market. Ratatouille’s main competition will be The Simpsons Movie, and even then, they will have been released more than 3 weeks apart so they are not really in direct competition.

Nothing much new to add but I really hope Ratatouille continues to earn at this rate. Hopefully word-of-mouth will do this.
And so the world continues to turn and so do the vast reviews on this wonderful, charming, and overall magnificent production…. The darn thing is raking in more meat than it can chew. Heheh.
