Ultimate Disney have posted their review of Ratatouille on DVD. What’s the verdict?
Unfortunately, Ratatouille follows last fall’s lightweight Cars disc with an even lighter DVD release. Naturally, it’s not a complete disappointment; the feature presentation is flawless and the few bonus features do add value. But the days of exhaustive Pixar two-disc sets that supply a potent, multi-hour blend of information and entertainment sadly appear to have passed…..it leaves Ratatouille in a package that feels far more ordinary than special.
So, in a sum up, the movie’s presentation is great but the DVD release is lacking and is not a stand-out release for holiday season. In which case, you might be interested in Jim Hill giving reasons as to why the last two Pixar DVD releases are less than spectacular.

…and so the crowd weeps and morns in exasperation, feeling the bite of the widow as she lavishly wraps her web ever tighter around her helpless victims….
It’s times like this when I want to bite the back off of the chair I currently reside in. Nevertheless, I’ll keep an eye out for a future 2-disc DVD release of the film that is worth two teaspons of sugar and a chocolate-dipped cherry on top. (sigh)
Thanks for the information, luxo jr..

For the LAST time…
You guys run an excellent site. WTF is the deal with always citing that loser Jim Hill? Get this through your heads: if we WANT to read what a talentless egomaniac has to spew about truly talented people, we’ll just click on his lame site and read it for ourselves.
So please, let’s agree to leave him off your excellent site.
While I agree with most everything “anonymous” said about Jim Hill sucking and all, I still appreciate that Upcoming Pixar mentions him from time to time when it’s relevant. No matter if he’s a bitter guy with a chip on his shoulder, he does sometimes have good information (mixed in with all the bad). Since I use this site for all my Pixar info, it’s nice to know when I might want to read something on Jim’s site without having to check there all the time myself. Reading about it here gives me the option to click over to Jim or not, which is really ideal.
True, but why choose to dig through a stall full of manure just to find a kernel of corn?
True. Very true. Although the behind-the-scenes featurette is very informative and pretty good.
