Soul’s New Release Date: November 20th

Pete Docter, Pixar, Poster, Soul

Posted by Joanna • April 13, 2020

Soul, Pixar’s next original movie directed by Pete Docter, has been pushed back from it’s original release date of June 19th to November 20th. This means it will land on the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Many movies have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is the first official word of Soul being pushed back, but it doesn’t come as a surprise.

Other movies with less notice have had to resort to straight-to-digital release, but with lockdown effects likely to be differing around the world come June, a delayed release seems the more sensible choice. It was revealed last week that a number of Pixar employees have been put on furlough – perhaps this would have had an effect on the completion and marketing of the film as well.

Soul was originally set to share a ‘release date birthday’ with Inside Out (another of Docter’s films).

Bring on November 20th – hopefully this new date will see us in a much more familiar world and will allow us to experience the film for the first time in an exciting crowded theatre.

Pixar’s Soul – New Poster, New Trailer!

Poster, Soul

Posted by Joanna • March 11, 2020

Soul is officially just 100 days away from release, and to celebrate this, a new poster has been revealed and a new trailer is dropping tomorrow (March 12th). Take a look at the new poster below:

We still know very little about Soul – it follows jazz musician Joe Gardner on his journey into the afterlife. The plot could go anywhere from there. This poster has confirmed something incredibly important though – there’s going to be a cat. We’ll be sure to keep you all updated with any new cat information that reveals itself in the next 100 days before June 19th (as well as any other Soul details in general of course).

A new Soul trailer is coming tomorrow! Check back soon to hear our thoughts.

Onward – More Posters Revealed

Onward, Poster

Posted by Joanna • January 16, 2020

Believe it or not, we are now a mere 50 days away from the release of Pixar’s next movie, and first of the decadeOnward.

Today, new character posters were revealed, including the one we were all waiting for: the Dad poster! Or the ‘weird, detached legs’ poster.

Just legs, and yet so much personality.

In addition to these, there are also some new UK Onward posters, featuring familiar characters but with different backdrops, and some new poses. The Ian and Barley poster is just precious – let’s just wait and see if Ian actually puts up with his big brother so patiently when the film is released.

In the background of Ian and Barley’s mom’s poster, you can just make out the sign for ‘Pizza Realm’, a clever reference to Toy Story’s Pizza Planet! Now that we’re into the final countdown to the movie’s release, keep checking back for more updates and insights into the making of Onward. We can’t wait to share more with you!

Onward – First Poster, First Trailer

Onward, Poster

Posted by Joanna • May 30, 2019

We only just got our first glimpse of Pixar’s next original movie Onward yesterday, and now Pixar are immediately surprising us with more Onward firsts! On Twitter, they teased us with a ‘magical riddle’ of sorts – if you reply to the tweet and solve it correctly, you’re rewarded with a beautiful poster. And a trailer is coming later tonight…

If you’re not wise enough to crack the code (or if you’re just impatient like us), then have a look at the poster below!

Isn’t it stunning? It looks like the city centre has lost some of the magic that the suburbs are still clinging onto. It’s surreal to see such a civilisation surrounded by jagged mountains and overseen by two crescent moons. Perhaps Onward will explore the fact that our world is a little like this too – huge cities can block out the beauty and wonder that our planet has to offer.

Also, can we just appreciate that van? And that it’s called Valor? What a beautiful paint job it’s had done on it. And look at that magical staff Ian has in his hand!

The excitement doesn’t stop at the poster though – the very first Onward trailer will also air tonight during the NBA final! Stay tuned to hear our thoughts on it, because we’re sure to have many!

Onward cometh to theatres in March 2020.

New Toy Story 4 Poster Sees Woody Walking Off Into The Sunset

Poster, Toy Story, Toy Story 4

Posted by Joanna • November 28, 2018

A new Toy Story 4 international poster has been revealed! The new poster features Woody standing a similar pose to a previous teaser poster, seemingly tipping his hat and walking off into what looks like a sunset (and a very beautiful sunset at that).

This stance suggests that Woody is saying a farewell of sorts, and if the little teasing comments from Tim Allen and Tom Hanks (voices of Buzz and Woody) are anything to go by, it seems like there’s a reasonable likelihood that this is exactly what the end of Toy Story 4 is going to involve. But remember – Pixar really do like to throw their curveballs! The only thing that can be guaranteed is that it will definitely surprise us.

Also worth noting is the carnival in the background. We’ve already seen a teaser trailer featuring Ducky and Bunny, two characterful fluffy toys that may or may not be carnival game prizes. Pixar have described Toy Story 4 as “a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends” – it looks like the carnival is going to be a significant stop on the toys’ journey.

At this point, we can still only speculate! But with Toy Story 4 coming out in just over 6 short months, we’re sure more details will be revealed in due course.

Gorgeous New Incredibles 2 Poster Released

Brad Bird, Incredibles 2, Poster

Posted by Nia • April 12, 2018

In case you weren’t already counting down the days until June 15th while doing a million cartwheels around your home (OK, that one might just be me); on top of all the excitement Disney/Pixar just released a brand new poster for the Incredibles 2 today. And tomorrow the studio is debuting a new trailer! Could it get any better than this?!

Check out the official tweet from Disney/Pixar below:

Front and center is our favorite superhero family: there’s Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack charging towards the camera. Jack-Jack, complete with laser vision, is after his arch nemesis: the raccoon. They’re all wearing their iconic super-suits, obviously designed by the fabulous Edna Mode, who is standing proudly towards the right. There’s also Frozone, back in action, and a slew of other new supers towards the back. Looming above the family is an ominous new character who creepily watches over the action in the poster.

So… there’s a lot going on here and I bet you have a lot of questions, like “who are all those new supers?” and “who in the world is that character with the creepy blue eyes?” Well, you’ll have to come back next week to find out. There’s a plethora of things I can’t tell you yet: like mind-blowing facts about the sequel and new characters and details about how it was all made that I learned from my most recent trip to Pixar. Luckily I’ll be able to talk about it all next week! (Including everything I saw in the first half hour of the Incredibles 2, filmmaker presentations, and more!)

Stay-tuned for tomorrow’s new trailer and make sure you check us out next week for more information from my trip to Pixar. And don’t forget your super-suits!

Brand new Coco poster and trailer

Coco, Pixar, Poster, Upcoming Pixar

Posted by Joanna • September 12, 2017

Pixar have revealed another beautiful poster for their much-anticipated movie Coco, with a new trailer set to release tomorrow at 9am PST.

With all the new details we have learnt about Coco over the past few months, we now know that it will take place partly in the “land of the living”, and partly in the “land of the dead”. The new poster exhibits this concept perfectly, with Miguel’s town and family filling one half of the image, and his ancestors and the bright lights of the “land of the dead” filling the other half. The striking bridge of marigold petals ties the two worlds together, as it will in the film itself. Coco will have a large cast of Latino actors and actresses, and it’s amazing to see the sheer variety of characters in the foreground and background. Even Pepita, the giant flying cat and spiritual guide, can be seen flying amongst the fireworks in the top right.

It’s not long now before Coco will finally be released in theatres, and tomorrow morning’s new trailer will no doubt make our excitement even more unbearable! To tide you over, some new Coco footage (heavily featuring Miguel’s Abuelita) was released on Sunday to celebrate Grandparents Day:

Coco to premiere at Mexico’s Morelia International Film Festival

Coco, Poster

Posted by Joanna • July 6, 2017

Very fittingly, Coco is set to have its world-premiere at Mexico’s Morelia International Film Festival on October 20th, over a month before the US release date.

The Morelia Film Festival’s Twitter announced the news yesterday, posting a video of Lee Unkrich, Adrian Molina (directors), and Darla Anderson (producer) expressing their delight in having Coco featured as an opening night movie at this festival’s 15th anniversary.

Adrian Molina describes Coco as:

“the first Pixar movie inspired by the lovely people, the beautiful traditions, and the culture of Mexico, so we are honoured to have the opportunity to launch it there first.”

A new poster has been produced for the festival, and it’s beautiful – it has the same bright colours as the logo, but some familiar characters and objects can be seen in amongst the brush strokes forming the iconic skull representing Día de los Muertos. Mama Coco takes centre stage, and the skull’s teeth seem to be formed by the bridge between the land of the dead and the land of the living that we saw in the latest trailer.

Here’s hoping Coco helps in making Morelia’s 15th film festival its best yet!

Check Out The New Poster for Coco!

Coco, Lee Unkrich, Poster

Posted by Nia • March 13, 2017

Lee Unkrich, the director of Coco, released a brand new poster for the upcoming film on Friday:

The poster is colorful and heaps of fun, as it depicts one of the characters of the film, Dante – a hairless Mexican dog, otherwise known as a Xoloitzcuintle. It’s also hard not to notice the character being playfully pet by a skeleton whilst what appears to be glowing flower petals float away to the left.

And yes… you certainly read that correctly! We will finally be seeing a trailer for Unkrich’s second feature film THIS week. Seriously, we can hardly wait.

Coco is set to be released this November.
