D23 encompasses all aspects of the Walt Disney Company, so it would only be natural for there to be an event dedicated to Pixar’s ever growing presence at Disney Parks.
John Lasseter headlined that very presentation, Imagineering Pixar for the Disney Parks, which deals with all sorts of current Pixar attractions. From A Bug’s Land to Toy Story Mania!, the CCO shared some fantastic stories about ride development. My favorite would have to be kid’s reactions while in TSMM testing during the plate breaking stage and what it yielded! Find out how that turned out and enjoy more stories at Stitch Kingdom’s Twitter feed from 9/13.
The Future: When it comes to combining theme parks and Pixar fandom, the best part of D23 would undoubtedly have to be all of the new announcements on what’s coming in the future. For example, Parks and Resorts Chair Jay Rasulo revealed the plans for Toy Story Playland to be ported over in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris. We reported on this earlier but seeing the art has got to be ten times more exciting! Disney and More shares some great concept; you can see the official poster above.
Speaking of D&M they also got pictures (scroll through) of Cars Land development. It’s looking top notch, especially Radiator Springs Racers. Just look at this Lightning McQueen "Automatronic":
You can also see a rough scene from Radiator Springs Racers here. Furthermore, there was a full talk on Toy Story Mania! and animatronic versions of WALL•E and Remy were present! Sounds like a great time!
I know this is a big cliché but the future of Pixar at Disney’s many theme parks truthfully looks bright!

Actually the toystory playland is nothing new. It has been planned for Hong Kong disneyland and is now being ported to Disney Paris Studios. What I am disappointed about is that the land in both Paris and Hong Kong lacks toy story mania which is the best pixar ride of all time.
“new plans for Toy Story Playland in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris.”
Haha, I know it’s not new to the world of Disney but it sure is new to Disneyland Paris. 🙂
Technicalities, technicalities, technicalities…
But if it makes you happy I’ll clear it up for ya’.
Toy Story Playland was supposed to be unique to Walt Disney Studios Park. It was the Hong Kong government that insisted on replacing a snow-themed land with the Toy Story concept that was developed for Paris in the first place.
A Ratatouille dark-ride is going to be build right next to TSPL, and it will be unique to DLP.
AH HA HEE HA,HA HA HEE HA HA HA HA!
