Toy Story and Toy Story 2 Special Edition Blu-ray Combo Packs Available Now!

News

That’s right, the classic Toy Story series is now available for you to own on Blu-ray!

What better way to prepare yourself for this summer’s Toy Story 3 than with the first two films at home in high-definition?

In this reminder post, I’ll let you know why you should go out and get these sets today. For the detailed review of each package’s unique and exclusive content, please refer to our main review.

For those of us who can enjoy Blu-ray at home, Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are perfect examples of the format’s brilliance. The 1080p picture and uncompressed surround sound are phenomenal, but the main attraction would undoubtedly be the heartwarming adventures which have taken us to infinity and beyond for ages!

Included you’ll also find a DVD of the film loaded with many of the Blu-ray features to watch in standard definition while away from a BR player. If you don’t already own the films, there’s no excuse to pass up on this Combo Pack! Also, whether you own the films on VHS, DVD or any other format, there are tons of exclusive features which should attract any serious fan.

As with any of their releases, Pixar didn’t hold back on TS and TS2! You’ll find unforgettable Studio Stories, documentary featurettes and many of the classic extras. With that said, you may want to hold on to the Ultimate Toy Box if you own it. For a detailed breakdown of features and descriptions, including thoughts on my favorite bonus materials, head on over to Upcoming Pixar’s main review of both sets.

I must remind you that the classics also come with a look into the future with unique Toy Story 3 previews hosted by Lee Unkrich. Many attendees out of ShoWest have noted that Toy Story 3 is best enjoyed with the first two films fresh in mind. As a bonus, each set includes a free ticket to see the highly anticipated sequel! How perfect?

"Toy Story" on Blu-ray and "Toy Story 2" on Blu-ray Special Edition Combo Packs (SRP $29.99 each) can be purchased in the US starting today! DVD-only packages (with alternate covers) will be released on a follow-up date of May 11th, 2010. We recommend ordering from Amazon or visiting a Disney Store!

Please let us know if you plan on buying this set! What are you most excited to see on the discs?
