Nothing much new came out of WonderCon from Pixar this year…
But the panel and footage was said to be just as effective! They showed 5 clips and the first 45 minutes of the film, the same as at NYCC. There was crying, laughter and of course the whole audience enjoyed it.
Here are a few early reports:
IESB has a summary of the panel with some questions asked and quotes from Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera. When speaking about audience reactions they said: "many persons in the audience shed tears and sniffles from these emotional scenes." Good to hear this reaction coming from every place this movie tours.
Latino Review tried to get an answer from Pete Docter about the rumored Monsters, Inc. 2, here’s what he got:
Pete: "Well, it’s like anything. We never say no to something, unless there’s no story there. I mean, it’s all about the storytelling. And if we find some story that really works and should be told, we’ll do it but…" Read the article to find out the rest.
BuzzFocus has an interview with Docter and Rivera, when the reporter ask about MI2 the panel "(Both laugh) No… we don’t know much about it…" Pete also tackles the question of why they chose the subject matter. It’s quite an interesting read.
This movie has quite the positive buzz building up. People seem to be enjoying this movie monumentally. Really good news for Pixar and fans alike!

too bad there wasn’t any new clips
good thing people liked it!
Monsters, Inc. 2 is totally in production. 😉
It’s clear that they cannot officially talk about Monsters Inc 2 because of contractual reasons or the likes. Having said that the cat is now out of the bag and they cannot do anything but laugh when being asked about it.
