In the plethora of Toy Story news it almost seems as if I’m ignoring Up. I’d never forget about Pixar’s latest emotional thrill ride so here’s a much needed update on its status!
New Bonus Feature Clips: The Up Blu-ray and DVD is less than a month away so Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s (DisneyMovies) YouTube channel has been diligently releasing some exclusive clips from the release! Here’s the Up team talking about Carl’s square design, the clip is cut fantastically by the way:
On the DisneyMovies channel you’ll also find previews of featurettes like Talking Dogs and The Voice of Russell alongside a Monsters, Inc. roundtable clip. Hopefully we’ll get a preview of Dug’s Special Mission soon!
(Thanks, Bryko614!)
US Steelbook Release: Remember the steelbook deal for Canadian Pixar fans that we posted about not too long ago? Fans in the states will be able to get their own Up steelbook starting today at participating Best Buy locations. All you have to do is visit your local store and ask to pre-order Up on Blu-ray. You’ll receive the handsome steelbook right there and then, but only while supplies last. When the Blu-ray/DVD is finally released, claim the actual package with the 4 discs.
The Up Blu-ray/DVD variations (4-Disc Blu-ray, 2-Disc DVD, 1-Disc DVD) and the Monsters, Inc. Blu-ray hit stores November 10th of this year! Click here for more information on Up and here for Monsters.
As a final note, I’d like to say that I’m very sorry for the lack of updates lately.

they had a clip of Dugs special mission on moviefone!!!!
Does anyone know if the Luxo box-set is cancelled?
Amazon had it on pre-order and I put in a reserve a couple weeks ago, and then it dropped from having a set price and they have me on stand-by if it becomes available again.
I’m going to ask Pixar PR that question (and a few others) tomorrow afternoon. I was wondering that too! 😛
For those of you wondering, Pixar replied with a “No Comment” as to whether or not Luxo will be in stores. I’m going to take that as a “no” for now.
martini,
Thanks for getting back on that. Hate that it was a ‘non-answer,’ but if release date comes and I don’t see Luxo return on Amazon, I’ll just cancel my order and get the 4-disc set.
