Our favorite little robot won the Best Animated Feature Film award today at the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
Andrew Stanton graciously accepted the prize. WALL•E was also nominated for Best Song (Down To Earth) but lost to The Wrestler. Either way, this is a huge accomplishment and after winning in similar categories non-stop, it’s a shure bet we’ll be seeing Andrew again very soon at the Oscars.
As a side note, Andrew Stanton alongside Jeff Garlin were interviewed today by TV Guide where he confirmed live on video that John Carter of Mars will be live-action and CGI and casting has just started.
Congratulations, Andrew Stanton and everyone at Pixar, you deserve it!
Update: After the Jonas Brothers presented the award and after Andrew Stanton thanked such Pixar and Disney giants as John Lasseter and Bob Iger, Mr. Stanton went back stage to answer questions.
Update 2: Unfortunately, the video has been pulled.
Congratulations to Mr. Stanton and the entire crew at Pixar!
The video be gone ? Thanks so much for posting this news on John Carter.
Hahahaha, I like how Jeff Garlin kept complaining about the shrinking of the window he and Stanton were in so audiences could see celebrities. Too bad its hard to find that clip.
Not really a surprise, but it still good news. I only caught the announcement of the Outstanding Animated Feature (or whatever it’s called). I think they played the music straight from the soundtrack, rather than having the orchestra play when it won. D=
Congratulations to Andrew and Pixar and… bring on the Oscars!
