Woody's News Round-Up! (12/06/10)

Competition News Pixar Round-Ups Toy Story 3

Win, win, what!?

That’s the theme of today’s Woody’s News Round-up. Whether it be Pixar’s latest accolades or a chance of a lifetime, reading on below may just be worth your while.

Bid for a Private Pixar Tour: Patton Oswalt, best known to Pixar fans as the voice of Remy, has teamed up with the LA Foodbank for an opportunity no Pixar fan will want to pass up. The highest eBay bidder (here) will win a private tour of the studio’s Emeryville campus. Who’s in?!

WAFCA Names TS3 Best Animated: The Washington DC Area Film Critics Association just named its Best Animated Film of 2010: Toy Story 3! Although TS3 was also up for consideration in WAFCA’s Best Picture category, the award went to The Social Network instead. Congratulations, Lee Unkrich!

Annie Nominations…: Who cares? But I suppose it’s news considering the big "Disney/Pixar pulling out of the Annies" announcement earlier this year. I promised that it would be our last post on the subject, but Toy Story 3 (Feature, Directing, Writing) and Day & Night (Short) have been nominated— and that’s notable. Brad Bird is also being honored, but we already knew he’s awesome. My verdict: Don’t pay any more attention to the Annies. Hypocrisy noted.
