Woody's TS3 News Round-Up! (06/05/10)

Can you believe it? We’re less than two weeks away from Toy Story 3 ‘s theatrical release!

With that said, welcome to another fun-filled collection of news tidbits concerning Pixar’s highly anticipated sequel. This time we’re covering the soundtrack, video games and… cakes? That’s right! Jump into the toy box:

Soundtrack + Video Game Previews: After listening to Amazon’s preview of the Toy Story 3 Soundtrack, I have nothing but praise for Randy Newman’s latest! You see, the version of TS3 that I screened had temp music, so this entire album (cover up top) is new to me.

Stand out tracks include "Cowboy!", "Zu-Zu (Ken’s Theme)" and "We Belong Together" performed by Newman himself. Please note that other titles in the list may include spoilers, so proceed with caution. Toy Story 3 music will be available for digital download starting June 15th.

On that same day you’ll also be able to pick up Toy Story 3: The Video Game. I’ve told you how much I love this Avalanche title, but don’t just take it from me. The Examiner’s Gabriel Zamora writes about his first impressions of the game which he calls "imaginative" and "novel." As usual, Toy Box Mode is the big sell — I agree. Read the full preview here.

Toy Story 3 Cake Challenge: ABC Family’s Toy Story programming isn’t the only TV event Pixar fans should be looking out for this weekend. Tomorrow, the Food Network‘s Cake Challenge will take on Toy Story 3.

The twist is that the cakes have to "come to life" like Buzz, Woody and the gang do in the films! Food’s previous Pixar themed Cake Challenge was amazing, so I have high expectations. Look out for the new episode tomorrow at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
