Today Joe Morgenstern from the Wall Street Journal, has urged Disney to "do the right thing — put "WALL-E" up for the Best Picture nomination it so richly deserves."
WSJ Joins WALL•E 'Best Picture' Bandwagon
The quest for "Best Picure" glory started last month with NYMag’s Vulture Blog.
Perhaps some badges and stickers need to be made up and sent out to Academy members.

I’m considering starting a petition to tell Disney to go ahead and campaign for the BP Oscar. WALL-E deserves to at least be nominated. What do you think?
I think a petition would be a great idea.
Same for badges and stickers, too. You should also think about making graphics that people can display on their website that links to a central petition. (Similar to the ‘Get Firefox’ buttons), you could put one on this site and Pixar Planet (up the top), maybe?
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but they’ve got my support. 🙂
While you’re at it, it should get a Best Production Design nomination, as well. I haven’t seen anything more deserving of such a nomination yet this year. And Best Effects, too!
YOU CAN DO IT WALL-E!
I’d be so happy to see a best picture nomination (even better, a win). It sounds like The Dark Knight might also be headed in this direction —- at least it’ll be an interesting awards season.
