In line with the kilt featurette that was recently released, Disney and Pixar have debuted a new look at Brave parodying television album ads.
The clip combines the Scottish cultural mainstay of the bagpipe with a contemporary twist. Although the song titles are clever and the cultural touch is neat, this and the recent kilt spot come off as a tad cynical to me. Judge for yourself on iTunes Movie Trailers or here:
Regarding the actual soundtrack for Brave, Walt Disney Records has put out the first official press release for the album. Doyle’s mix of contemporary music with authentic Scottish instruments certainly seems unique, and Touch the Sky, Into the Open Air, and Learn Me Right seem on track to become new classics. Brave is just about a month away, set to release on June 22, 2012. The soundtrack for Brave will launch on June 19.
