It was just announced that Toy Story and Toy Story 2, will be re-released simultaneously as a double feature on October 2nd, 2009 for a limited engagement of just two weeks.
This is opposed to the previous announcement that stated Toy Story 2 would be released separately, on February 12th in 2010. This is extremely good news: not only is it two masterpieces for the price of one, but the February release date will have Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, presented like never before in the third dimension! The films have been re-rendered to play in Disney Digital 3D and will lead up to the highly anticipated Part 3. Speaking of Toy Story 3, it has been reported that Mark Zoradi (president, Walt Disney Studios) announced at ShoWest that the trailer for TS3 will be playing in front of the double feature!

Will you be seeing the re-releases of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D? Has the announcement of the TS3 trailer changed your mind?

Coolio, but both at the same time? That’s a little long.
There will probably be an intermission in between the movies, so don’t worry. You’ll probably be so entertained, you won’t notice 3 hours went by!!
I’m looking forward to this! Definitely!
Just one thing though — will this be up for only one time in the day or will it have regular show times?
There will probably be less showtimes and less theatres showing it but it will definitely play more than once a day for a limited amount of weeks.
Just the US? Coming to Europe/UK/Australia?
Anyone see a Cars 3D rerelease prior to Cars 2?
forget intermission, REAL fans can sit through both movies with no break 😀
I will definitely see it, as I have heard the re-rendering will be a great improvement. I’ll probably close my eyes and ears during the TS3 trailer, as I’m tired of movies giving away all the funny/good parts in a trailer.
