Today Walt Disney Home Entertainment announced that the WALL•E
DVD/Blu-Ray would both be released November 18th, 2008.
It features a
stunning design featuring WALL•E, EVE, M•O and Hal the cockroach
hurdling into space. The Blu-ray will be a two disc release, one disc
being the feature presentation and special features, and the second
being a digital copy of the film. The disc will also feature BD Live
which allows you to download content such as new special features,
updated previews, and more through a Blu-ray player connected to the
internet.
More details are expected to come on August 22nd regarding
the specific content and special features for each release.

That’s a great cover!
I guess I’ll be getting the DVD as a late birthday present.
Eh, he looks scared. . . (wide-eyed and terrified)
Kinda does sum up the movie, though. (Glad M-O made final cut.)

Hey, M-O is not holding on to the space ship!
That’s my sister’s birthday.
“The Blu-ray will be a two disc release, one disc

That doesn’t make sense. If it’s on BluRay, it’s ALREADY “digital.” So, they’re giving us 2 digital versions of the film? Is this the rumoured 19 extra minutes that was cut from the film?
Ooh, I love the cover.
….Wait, the Bluray is gonna b 2 disc…. What about the DVD? We’re stuck with th one disc treatment again, aren’t we?
I’m gonna go try not to cry now.
PLEASE READ GUYS – just want to clarify some confusion here – it technically is not a “two disk” bluray – the digital copy means that you can put the disk into your computer and a copy of the film will be saved on there (legally!) so that the viewer can watch it any time without needing the disk. (I have the Family Guy Star Wars special like this – they were the first to do this) – which is a pretty cool add on as I would love to buy the Bluray version and be able to watch the movie on my laptop as well. So don’t get too upset about it being 2disk – because really it’s just an extra copy of the movie – but knowing Disney I’m sure the bluray copy will have extra features regardless. I just wanted to clear up the confusion as to what a digital copy is.
I’m hearing that “The Pixar Story” documentary by Leslie Iwerks will be released in tandem with “Wall-e.”
I don’t know if it’ll be DVD, Blu-Ray or both, nor do I know if it will be part of the “Wall-e” bonus material or on its own separate disc.
I’m also not sure if this will be one of those deals they offer at Wal-Mart or Target, where you can get the standalone DVD title (Wall-e) for $15 to $20 or both (Wall-e and The Pixar Story) packaged together for $20 to $30.
The Pixar story documentary is already available on dvd in France in a Box set with all the pixar films, released in july. I have the dvd.

As far as I understand the Pixar Story will be available on the 2nd DVD disc that will be part of the set in the UK – just like Cars & Ratatouille got 2 disc editions there with bonus materials.
Finally, it will come out, Wall-E is so cute on the cover and so is EVE and M-O! I am gonna get the 40.00 3-disc version with all the special features!!! Ughh, november? Why pixar, why??? haha
