After a month in release, Toy Story 3 successfully maintains its competitive edge at the box office!
Pixar’s 11th landed the #5 spot with an estimate of $11 million dollars. Now that the film has crossed most of its imaginable benchmarks, we can go straight to its current total:
$362,709,000
This Weekend: Phenomenal new release, Inception, was able to capture the top spot this weekend as Despicable Me dropped almost 50% from its debut. In the meantime, Sorcerer’s Apprentice (new release) struggled to surpass Eclipse.
As for Toy Story 3 — Buzz and Woody had virtually identical Friday and Sunday estimates, with $3.4 million dollars each day. Saturday took the cake, as usual, with an estimated $4.6 million.
International: Last week, Toy Story 3 managed to rake in $36.2 million at the foreign box office. Japan’s opening weekend contributed $11 million, making it the biggest US ‘toon release in the country. The film can now claim $221.9 million in international gross and $584 million worldwide.

I don’t think the international number will be the same as the domestic number . Japan’ numbers didn’t grreat either. Disappointing 🙁
“Toy Story 3 is on course to become the biggest grossing animated film ever released by Walt Disney after generating $630.2m in its first month in cinemas.”

Be patient anonymous. Summer starts July 20th, a Tuesday. Go figure. The coming Sunday, the 25th, TS2 will be shown publicly nationwide on HiDef. Over 80% of Japanese households own digital TV’s. Also, TS3 is getting a 95.5% satisfaction rate in Japan. The sales numbers will match this classic, masterpiece film from Pixar or I will personally rip Walt Disney Japan. I have one person in mind from an affiliated morning TV show in Japan.
Don’t mind Inception surpassing it, it deserves it’ but it needs to kill eclipse and the sorceror’s apprentice!
