Cars Toons News Round-Ups The Incredibles Toy Story

Woody’s News Round-up is back with three new Pixar stories from all over the ‘net!

New Air Mater Stills: Air Mater, the first production from Pixar Canada, is set to premiere this Tuesday with Cars 2 on DVD and Blu-ray. The German Pixar Blog has obtained several stills from the upcoming ‘Cars Toons’ short that takes Mater to new heights. We’ve included a few of those images in this post. More shots and an interview with director Rob Gibbs can be found here.

Book Chronicles Toy Story Series: A brand new book from Disney Editions, set to recount the tale behind the Toy Story series, was recently listed for pre-order on Amazon. Written by Charles Solomon (The Art of Toy Story 3), The Toy Story Films: An Animated Journey is scheduled to hit stores on August 7, 2012. The book’s description implies that this 192-page volume will be the most comprehensive account of the ‘trials, tribulations and triumphs’ met during the 20+ year history of Pixar’s iconic and beloved film series.
Bird Talks The Incredibles 2: To many fans, the best suited Pixar film (no pun intended) for a sequel seems painfully obvious. The Incredibles writer and director, Brad Bird, is open to the possibility in a new interview with Movies.com, however he hasn’t been actively pursuing the idea. "I think the reason it hasn’t [happened] yet is because the studio would like me to do it… And I’ve told them that I’m not really friendly to have someone else take away my child… I would like to think that I have several good ideas that could be incorporated into a next Incredibles, but I don’t have a whole movie yet, and the last thing I want to do is do it just because it would open big, or something like that.” On a related note, Bird’s live-action debut, Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, opens December 21 in the US.
