Next Pixar Short: BURN•E

BURNE, Short Film, WALL-E

Posted by Thomas • June 20, 2008

A Pixar Planet Forum member, miafka, who is a member of the orchestra for WALL•E, pointed out today some information about the next Pixar short film.

Though the scoring to Wall-E finished the end of April, we went back today (Wed) to record music for a small little short that’ll be an extra on the Wall-E DVD when it comes out. The short is called "Burn-E" and is about a robot named… you guessed it… Burn-E. Music was by JAC Redford (orchestrator on "Wall-E") and though I didn’t catch the director’s name, he came out at the end to say hi. Nice that there are some extras planned for the DVD. Of course Wall-E itself will be out in theatres in… less than 10 days!

says miafka. Hopefully more information on this soon.

Thanks Martin.

Up Teaser Trailer Not Attached to WALL•E

Presto, Short Film, Trailer, UP, WALL-E

Posted by Thomas • June 1, 2008

The Pixar projection portal indicates that the teaser trailer for Pixar’s 2009 film, Up, will not be attached to WALL•E this month. In its place it seems will be the teaser for BOLT. Perhaps we may have to wait till the end of the year to see it attached to BOLT itself.

The site does note the short film, Presto, will have a running time of 5:14, while WALL•E runs for 1:47:43. That makes WALL•E the 4th longest Pixar film behind Cars, The Incredibles and Ratatouille.
Thanks Martin and Terry.

Amid on Pixar’s Short Films

Boundin', For the Birds, Geri's Game, Jack Jack Attack, Knick Knack, Lifted, Luxo, Jr., Merchandise, Mike's New Car, One Man Band, Pixar, Presto, Red's Dream, Short Film, The Adventures of Andre and Wally B, Tin Toy

Amid from Cartoon Brew writes about writing a book for Pixar chronicling their short films.

The coffeetable book I’m working on, which will be out later this year, is directly tied in to the Pixar Short Films Collection dvd, and is an in-depth history of the studio’s early shorts. I was naturally thrilled when they asked me to come on board because, well, come on it’s Pixar, but also because I know the importance of shorts to the company’s history and the value that they place on creating animated shorts even now that they’re a successful feature studio

Read the rest here. I for one am excited to see what Amid dishes up for us all, and I think it will be a must have.
