Aspiring animators in the UK, listen up!
In celebration of the newly published Pixarpedia, Dorling Kindersley (DK), Disney•Pixar and Total Film are sponsoring an exciting short film contest! First prize winners will receive round-trip airfare from the UK to San Francisco and a tour of Pixar Animation Studios! Runners-up can even win film packages worth over £200 or a free copy of Pixarpedia.
Here’s how to enter: If you’ve got an animated short film, (going along the lines of an animated adventure) upload it on YouTube and fill out the submission form found here. Make sure to follow the specific guidelines and regulations before entering. You can check out what’s already been submitted over at Pixarpedia’s official YouTube account. Entries close November 30th, 2009 and winners will be chosen by members of the Up team.
How cool would it be to get chosen to visit Pixar because of your animated works?!? Of course, this contest is also in promotion of the upcoming release of Up in the UK coming to theatres October 9th.
Good luck to all the entrants, may the best short win!

Is this just for people in the UK?!
There should be a contest and one of the winners should receive a copy of the “Up” DVD. That would be really cool is this was a contest that applied to the US that way many winners will receive a free copy of “Up.”
Are they really expecting ammature animators to be able to get into this? Dang. Wow. Another reason why I wish to work out Pixar. :[

This sounds like a very exciting competition! Whoever wins will have to be very talented and lucky.
Oh, and the UK release of Up is the 9th of October, not the 16th.
