Kelly Macdonald on Brave!

Actress Kelly Macdonald gushed about her role in Brave when she spoke to NBC Connecticut earlier this week.

Currently making the rounds in support of the last installment in the Harry Potter series, the Scottish born thespian is bracing herself for the attention she’ll surely attract thanks to her high profile character in Pixar’s upcoming film. Macdonald proudly takes on the role of Princess Merida, replacing Reese Witherspoon due to scheduling conflicts.

Here’s an excerpt from the article:

"I really, really can’t contain myself about Brave… It was something completely new. I’m not finished yet. I still have some things to do, but it’s just such a different thing, and I didn’t really have very much to go on. They had some animation to show me. I know what she looks like, but it’s nowhere near completion. The animators have been working for years and years on this thing. With all the actors that they’ve brought onboard, that means it’s nearing its vision. I’m just so impressed that I’m getting to work with people who are brilliant. Pixar is the best company, I think.”

Brave opens in US theaters on June 22, 2012.

I say she is a vast improvement over Reese Witherspoon for the role. While I like Witherspoon, I imagine McDonald fitting much nicer.
She’s also great in “Boardwalk Empire” and “No Country for Old Men”

Just remember, these voice actors work on Pixar films maybe a total of 6 to 7 days. Period. The films themselves can take up to 6 years to make.

Offtopic: Please martini833 fix your avatar so I can see a nice icon every time I open Firefox instead of “Posted by martini833” stupid oversized text, for Pixar’s sake. I don’t want to change my home website. Plus wen I click your “avatar” ( it says: Oops!
We’re sorry, the Pixar Planet elves can’t find the page you’re looking for, but why not try the sitemap?

There are so many banners and signatures in forums it’s virtually unreadable. Can I turn all those off?

Guys, I’m sorry. I would really love to fix these bugs, however our transition from the old Pixar Planet to the new layout means that some features that were tied in to the old forums (like my avatar) are not properly working right now. Since I don’t code the site, I have no way of fixing it right now. Just know that something will come soon enough. Thanks for yout concern.

I thought computers were supposed to make our lives EASIER! I’m kidding. Good luck getting all this stuff straightened out. I agree, though, that there are so many personal banners I can hardly read the forums any more. So annoying.
