More Newt Concept Art Surfaces!

Late last year, Disney/Pixar revealed an unprecedented batch of concept art from the cancelled Pixar project, Newt.

More recently, a slew of never-before-seen images from the film’s development have surfaced on the German Pixar Blog. Although the former images were created by various artists, the latter set is solely the work of Pixar’s Jason Deamer.

No one can deny that these character designs look fantastic and I’d still like to see the final film, but at the same time, I’m reminded that Newt was likely cancelled for legitimate reasons. Even with all this new information, the question still remains:
Why was Newt canned?

Your thoughts?

Check out the preview for “Rio” and you’ll see why they cancelled

We’re on top of that theory.

But it’s just that, a theory. No one outside of Pixar really knows why Newt was cancelled. It may be a combination of story issues, similarities to other projects or something completely different.

Good one. Not true, but funny.
