I gave it a B+
Wait… so you need to see the 3D version to see the Brave trailer?
I am sad to say, but I will be giving this film a miss. It does not look good. The next Pixar film I will be seeing will be ‘Monsters University’. Anyway, why make a sequel to ‘Cars’, when a sequel to ‘Finding Nemo’ would have been much better?
A sequel to Finding Nemo would be an absolute terrible idea. What are they gonna call it? “Finding Nemo…Again”? I’m all for seeing short films with the Nemo gang. But another full length film is out of the question.
And I will be very happily seeing Cars 2 tomorrow! The critics hated the first one, which is one of my all time favorite movies. Usually if they hate, I’ll just love it that much more.
I second the question above…you only see the Brave trailer if you go to a 3D showing?
Brave trailer looks a bit unfinished, and the animation looks VERY weak. It doesn’t say much about the story—after Cars2 let’s hope it has one. I wasn’t at all impressed.
Cars 2 way exceeded my expectations. I saw the Rotten Tomatoes reviews and even though I had seen all the great material being released all along I admit that I was going in expecting Cars 2 to not be amazing but I was SO wrong. Pixar hasn’t ever let their viewers down and this movie is NO exception. It isn’t the most emotional of the Pixar films but it’s a good movie. It’s funny, has great action scenes, has a good story and a really good message about being loyal to friends. It’s a movie that I could watch with anyone. I found myself literally on the edge of my seat at climactic moments and celebrating when everything came to a happy ending. It’s a movie that any kid will love and adults will like too, and it is certainly not Pixar’s first flop. The animation was SPECTACULAR, too.
The movie ended up meaning quite a lot more to me than expected as well. I lost my dad last September right as I was starting college and getting ready to start my personal path to Pixar. One of the things we never agreed on was what movie to watch. I wanted Disney, Pixar, animation and funny movies, and he always wanted his spy movies. Sitting in the theater I saw a movie that was funny, full of action, suspenseful, and took me around the world to finish up in London, where my dad got his P.h.D. It’s about 9 months too late but Pixar made the film that my dad and I both would have loved and shared and I wish SO much we could watch it together. Cars 2 had that extra oomph for me because I brought it myself, and it’s putting Cars 2 in a very special place in my heart. It’s not the first Pixar movie to ever make me cry, Wall-E did that first, then Up, Toy Story 3 had me crying for a LONG time but Cars 2 is the first Pixar movie to leave me crying even after it ends. It really really really means a lot to me.
this is for the person who reviewed to brave trailer:
just because none of the story elements were not in the teaser does not mean it has none.
look at the up and wall-e first trailers!
i thought both of them were going to be not so great and they were awesome!
so just wait until it comes to theaters to judge it.
My thought: the movie is the worst Pixar movie since A bug’s life (but not the wort Pixar movie ever!) About Hawaiian Vacation, I thought it was funnier.
P.S.: I cannot wait for Brave. The trailer looks sensational!!!!
P.P.S: P.P.S. is very odd. 🙂
I really don’t understand why all this hate on the movie. In my opinion, Cars 2 was great, and beter than the first one.
As for the people asking about the Brave sneak peek, yes, you can only watch it in 3-D Imax.
I saw it in 3D at Downtown Disney in the Disneyland Resort yesterday. No Brave trailer (just saw that it’s only for 3D AND IMAX, my bad). I personally thought the movie was terrible for a Pixar movie, and a mediocre film on its own. I’d say it reached my expectations of the movie. It had a really weak ending, and the plot was pretty tame and cheesy. The whole movie just felt pretty underwhelming, and something I’d expect from Dreamworks or anybody else – just the average animated film; aside from the animation qualilty – Pixar’s best yet.
I loved the movie. It was fun and seemed to be an extention of the Tow Matter Shorts. It was great just to sit back and have fun with Cars gang. The film did go at a break neck pace. The higher art is back next year with Brave.
