Check out the video below of Peter Gabriel performing ‘Down to Earth’ from WALL•E for the first time live this year. It was on March 18 in Caracas, Venezuela. Gabriel jokes at the start that although this is the first time he’s played it live, it could be the last if they don’t like it.
Peter Gabriel Performs 'Down to Earth' Live
‘Down to Earth’ featured in the credits of WALL•E and is available as a single or as part of the WALL•E soundtrack. (Thanks Sam.)

I wish the sound quality was better on this, because I can tell this is one of those ‘doesn’t sound very good on the internet, but was probably AMAZING live’ kind of things.
THIS is what we should have seen at the Oscars. It’s too bad Peter pulled out- although I understood why. Still, I think it would have been better for him to do his 30 seconds of the song, rather than whoever sang it (forgot who they were) instead. In my opinion the singer completely butchered the song… probably because it’s a song that BELONGS to Peter. It’s like wheverever anyone besides Randy Newman tries to sing ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’. It just isn’t right!
So this was great to finally see. Thanks for posting!
Yeah. I agree. It isn’t right when someone else sings You’ve Got a Friend In Me. It works for some songs, and some people make it better than original, but I don’t think it’s possible to do better than Randy.
