Ratatouille At Wondercon ’07

/Film has posted up what happened at the Ratatouille booth at Wondercon ’07.

Brad Bird began his presentation with slides showing the character development drawings and sculpts for Remy, the main rat character from Ratatoille. He also showed the early sculpts for Emile, his brother, the friendly gregarious rat that will eat anything (voiced for Pete Soane).

The post goes on to describe the sequences shown, as well who Brad Bird voices in the film, how Brad wrote a whole new script from the basic idea created by Jan Pinkava, and lots more.

Be sure to have a read.

Oh, and if you are looking forward to The Incredibles 2, Brad Bird has this news…

“If I can come up with a story that is as good or better than that first film, then I’d love to return to that world, but it would have to be story first.”

And there you have it!

I was able to attend the panel this morning and it really was quite exciting. Just for the record, and I know it wasn’t you, but Pete’s last name is actually Sohn. 🙂

I also attended Wondercon 2007 to see Brad Bird and the 12-minute clip from Ratatouille. It was really exciting. I will post with a report of the experience within the next week.

I was beginning to worry that Pixar had little immediate interest in returning to The Incredibles given its line-up of films slated through 2009. C’mon, use your influence to get The Incredibles 2 on the fast-track (insert emoticon).
