Old Friends And New Faces – New Toy Story 4 TV Spot And Poster

Poster, Toy Story 4

Posted by Joanna • April 18, 2019

A new Toy Story 4 TV spot has given us a glimpse of some brand new footage, all centred around Bo Peep, the Pixar heroine we’re looking forward to reacquainting ourselves with this summer. Take a look at the TV spot below:

From what we’ve seen of Toy Story 4 already, it’s clear that the movie is going to look beautiful. This new TV spot has totally solidified this prediction – the animation and camera movements are so exciting and believable, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such an impressively animated 3D cat. The lighting is stunning.

We also get to see the toys reacting to the complex mystery that is toy death as the characters witness a cuddly toy with its head ripped off.

“Is that how we look…on the inside?”

“There’s so much…f-f-f-f-fluff!”

The new poster features the golden trio – Woody, Buzz, and Bo (plus Officer Giggle McDimples, of course) – with the atmospheric blurred carnival lights in the background. Such attention to detail!

Incredibles 2 – posters, sneak peaks, and a ‘special look’ coming on the 14th

Incredibles 2, Pixar, Poster

Posted by Joanna • February 11, 2018

“It’s been too long, dahlings.”

Incredibles 2 is set to release on June 15th, over thirteen and a half years after the original The Incredibles came to theatres in November of 2004. Now that a sequel is on the very conceivable horizon, excitement is really mounting, especially with the promise of new trailers, posters, and sneak peaks.

Brand new Incredibles 2 posters have been cropping up for the New York Fashion week, and it just wouldn’t be right if none of them featured the iconic Edna Mode.

The other poster features Bob Parr ironing out his super suit – ironic since it seems that the plot of the long-awaited sequel appears to see Helen experiencing most of the action whilst Bob is left at home with Jack-Jack (although no doubt this will be more action-packed than expected).

If you’ve been keeping up with the 2018 Winter Olympics, you may have been surprised to see some cameos of our favourite family of supers. You can watch some of their brief appearances below:

They’re also teasing a ‘special look’ that will be shown on Wednesday, February 14th during the coverage of the Winter Olympics. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that some brand new clips will be shown, along with some plot details. I have a feeling the Winter Olympics might notice a significant spike in viewer numbers…
If you’re not so keen on watching winter sports or aren’t able to watch the ‘special look’ as it airs live, then don’t worry – we’ll keep you updated!

A quick update: Pixar have released another Incredibles 2 poster.

Not your everyday laundry basket.

Michael Giacchino also tweeted a video of director Brad Bird and himself teasing some work on the score of Incredibles 2. Giacchino wrote the score for The Incredibles, in addition to many other Pixar movies (most recently Coco) – there’s no doubt that this new score will be just as punchy and affecting as the original. Brad Bird also appears to be wearing a t-shirt featuring Jack Jack exhibiting some of his many superpowers! You can watch the video below:

Final update: It’s the day before the ‘special look’ is due to air during the Winter Olympics, and Pixar have just released another teaser poster.

Brand new Coco poster and trailer

Coco, Pixar, Poster, Upcoming Pixar

Posted by Joanna • September 12, 2017

Pixar have revealed another beautiful poster for their much-anticipated movie Coco, with a new trailer set to release tomorrow at 9am PST.

With all the new details we have learnt about Coco over the past few months, we now know that it will take place partly in the “land of the living”, and partly in the “land of the dead”. The new poster exhibits this concept perfectly, with Miguel’s town and family filling one half of the image, and his ancestors and the bright lights of the “land of the dead” filling the other half. The striking bridge of marigold petals ties the two worlds together, as it will in the film itself. Coco will have a large cast of Latino actors and actresses, and it’s amazing to see the sheer variety of characters in the foreground and background. Even Pepita, the giant flying cat and spiritual guide, can be seen flying amongst the fireworks in the top right.

It’s not long now before Coco will finally be released in theatres, and tomorrow morning’s new trailer will no doubt make our excitement even more unbearable! To tide you over, some new Coco footage (heavily featuring Miguel’s Abuelita) was released on Sunday to celebrate Grandparents Day:

Pixar reveals an all-Latino cast for Coco (and a new poster!)

Coco, Lee Unkrich, Pixar

Posted by Joanna • June 6, 2017

Along with a beautiful new poster, Pixar released details today of the large cast of characters that we can look forward to seeing in Coco later this year, all voiced by actors of Latino descent (including Gabriel Iglesias, Renée Victor, Sofía Espinosa, and Edward James Olmos). It’s worth remembering that Pixar put a lot of effort into making the cast of Brave entirely Scottish or of Scottish descent (save a few lines of dialogue, like the now-essential John Ratzenberger cameo), so it’s great to see them doing the same and more for Coco.

Information on the cast reveal can be found on Oh My Disney. 18 characters have been revealed, many of them relatives of the main character Miguel, so it seems like we might be seeing a big family reunion in the Land of the Dead. Even though each character is given just a brief description, this new information has really fleshed out the world in which Coco is taking place. We’ve learned that Miguel’s family comes from a long line of shoemakers, and the business was created by his great-great grandmother Mamá Imelda. “The matriarch of the Rivera family”, she is bound to be a strong, interesting character that I’m sure many of us are looking forward to meeting. It also seems like there might be a bit of tension between the musicians and the shoemakers in his extended family…

With Coco being released in under 6 months, we can definitely begin to look forward to seeing more trailers, teasers and posters. In fact, a new trailer is expected to land later this week! Director Lee Unkrich has posted pictures on Twitter of some of the voice actors – Gabriel Iglesias and Edward James Olmos – at Pixar Studios recording lines for the movie.

And the continued support from Jorge R. Gutierrez, the director of The Book of Life which also centred around Día de los Muertos, is still as heart-warming as ever.

Coco is set to release in North American theatres on November 22nd 2017.

Yesterday Pixar released four new breathtaking posters for Finding Dory. See them below in their high-res glory:

Could you find her hiding in each poster? The photos give us more of a glimpse into the world of the film and offer different colorful atmospheres. From the first poster bursting with energy to the last being dark and mysterious, with possible danger lurking behind the seaweed. It’s quite fun trying to figure out what destination she’s off to on the back of those stingrays. Perhaps these are four new key locations for the underwater world that Dory will have to venture to in order to find her family? Whatever the case may be, it’s certainly refreshing seeing Dory again and getting a little bit of a variation in her character with each poster. Finding Dory is out June 17th (only four more months to go!).
