The Incredibles 5th Anniversary!

Brad Bird News The Incredibles

Note: I’m late! I’m late! No you didn’t miss this post earlier, I have bumped it down to reflect the correct date.

It’s incredible how time flies. "Incredibles", I should say, as it’s The Incredibles‘ 5th anniversary!! In this post I’ll look back at some of the achievements and highlights of Pixar’s 6th film!

The Incredibles is regarded by many as one of the best (if not the best) animated films of all time. This isn’t only reflected by fans, the movie won countless awards (including 2 Oscars) after its November 5th, 2004 release. Five year’s later, Pixar is still being honored for this amazing film.

Bird’s first effort at Pixar works as a great action film and family comedy but most of all, as commentary on society. It was inspired by Brad Bird’s own family and the daily struggles he faces juggling life at home and making stunning films. I don’t know anyone who can’t relate in some way to the adventures of Bob, Helen, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack. Superheroes in hiding, but so much more!

Firsts: This was Pixar’s first attempt at a fully human cast so the crew had a unique challenge. They blew everyone’s socks off with how believable the ‘toons were. The Incredibles received Pixar’s first PG rating.

For more check out The Incredibles’ Special Edition DVD if you don’t already own it, this release does an outstanding job of chronicling the entire production and includes Jack-Jack Attack.

So now it’s your turn to share your The Incredibles memories from the past 5 years in the comments section!
