The Pixar Blog has spoken with The Pixar Story director, Leslie Iwerks, on the phone has she has mentioned that The Pixar Story should be on DVD this June.
'The Pixar Story' on DVD in June Says Iwerks
It will be a part of a box set of Pixar DVD’s that is to be released that month, and she also says that it should be included on the WALL•E DVD later this year. Whether this is just a region 1 release or international is still unknown.
Pixar fans rejoice!

Part of a box set? So I’ll have to buy all of the films again, just to see this doco? I hope they release it separately as well!
See? There ya’ have it. 😉
It kinda sucks that one has to purchase it along with a set, though. Ah, well. I’ll just wait for the “WALL-E” DVD to come out before I see it again.

I own all Pixar movies on DVD already so no box set for me. And I’m sure if it will ever be included with Wall-e it’s going to be on Blu-ray (which I do not intend to buy for the time being). A two-disc DVD seems rather unlikely considering the past few Pixar releases.
yay for the DVD release!! but man, box set?? I don’t think I’ll be getting that.
But wow, I can’t believe a whole other documentary that has it’s own DVD will be included on the WALL-E DVD as well! It says DVD, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on the blu-ray instead..
I bet I will have to buy a Blu-ray player soon enough (well, eventually), so I may consider buying WALL-E blu. We’ll see 🙂
Well, I already recorded it on Starz HD and burned it to a DVD, along with the Wall-E preview held after it aired (played on my upcoverter, its back to HD quality).
I won’t pay for anything on a disc formate anymore, I need something that doesn’t scratch, and thats why I’m waiting for the next formate (3D-HD downloads maybe lol). It’s like buying CDs when you could have an MP3 player.
Would be cool if someone could upload it for us ‘overseas’ fans.
I’m definately going to buy it if it does come to DVD in europe but until then anyone who fancies uploading it is automatically in my goodbooks
I just saw it!!
It has to be one of THE best documentaries out there, not just cus I love Pixar, but because it was truly captivating. Too bad it couldn’t be seen by the masses, especially fans, this could really inspire a new generation of Pixar animators, just like the MI, FN and TI DVD’s did (and still do).
If you haven’t seen it it’s definitely worth seeing. Got a chance to check it out at Pixar and meet Leslie Iwerks. Wonderful film.
