So, maybe you don’t have $1,000 dollars available to spend on a Pixar gala event.
Most of us don’t have that kind of money, but maybe some of us will be in the Chicago area soon! If that sounds like you, you’re in luck because Pixar and Comer Children’s Hospital are holding a special screening of Toy Story 3 on May 15th, 2010!
The pre-release showing will be held at the Kerasotes Showplace ICON Theatre with tickets starting at $50 dollars. Movie snacks and a goodie bag are included within entrance. There will also be a V.I.P. Reception and Brunch featuring Lee Unkrich and "other talent" before the 12:00 PM screening. Admission to the meet-and-greet is a bit more expensive, at $150 dollars, but completely worth it!
To purchase tickets, call (773) 834-5660. Online purchases are coming soon, but as with any other pre-release event, tickets are limited and should go fast! All proceeds go towards supporting the hospital’s groundbreaking research and distinctive patient care. For more information, please visit this link.
Do I hear sighs of relief from Chicagoans who wanted to go to the gala? Will any of you be attending this exciting event?

I wonder if this will be the 3D version? (I’m assuming yes – which would keep me from going – vision impairment makes 2D a necessity.)
I’m really sorry to hear that but maybe you should call in tomorrow to confirm if it’ll be in 3D or not. 🙂
Omg- something actually IS HERE IN CHICAGO!
Though now to decide whether or not to buy the $150 or the $50 screening tickets.
uruseiranma- I think it’s more of a question of:
“Do I want my picture on Pixar Planet to feature John Lasseter or Lee Unkrich” You decide. 😛
martini- I took a poll at work from some co-workers of $50 vs %150. Survey said: take the $150 package.
So, goodbye responsible credit card-usage.
Though I don’t think I’ll be able to top that photo of me with John. But if I do go to the Toy Story 3 thing, I may custom-make that ‘3’ shirt that Unkrich wore in one picture, and go in that to the early-morning brunch.
In case anyone was curious: “I have a playdate with destiny.”
Purchased the $150 VIP package, and now just awaiting my tickets and the date. Now to find a way to create one of those “3” shirts that Lee wore.
uruseiranma- Congratulations on the purchase! Enjoy and definitely let us know how it went.
P.S. I expect a new avvie with Lee in it. 😛
DARN!! I would love to go to this, I live near Chicago and it’s on my Birthday!!
Shame it costs so much! Maybe I’ll see if I can still get tickets…
Last Anon.- Early birthday present??
