It came as a welcome surprise to many when today’s release was announced last year. Today, I am glad to say that the Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D Double Feature is finally here!
Although back in April of ’08 it wasn’t a double feature, Toy Story 3D was in fact slated for October 2nd. Since then, anticipation has risen greatly and the fans have gone wild for these classics’ return to the big screen. Now that you’ve seen the multiple witty promos and checked out the trailer it’s time for you to experience the full show for yourself. Go out and see it soon because the first computer animated movie ever and its sequel will only be back in theatres for two weeks only.
You’ve probably already read our glowing review, now tell us what you think! In the comments section, let us know what your favorite aspect of the show was as soon as you get back from the theatre. Did you enjoy the 3D presentation, how was the crowd, did you notice anything that you hadn’t on previous viewings, did anything make you jump, put a big smile on your face or… dare I say it… disappoint you? You may also want to discuss how these John Lasseter-directed movies (released in 1995 and 1999 respectively) are still perfect examples of master storytelling. Don’t be shy, drop us a line!
Remember, the Toy Story 3 trailer is attached exclusively to the double feature and won’t find its way online until the two weeks are over — so there’s no excuse to miss this cinematic experience! We want to know what your thoughts were on this clever preview too! Don’t forget to stay during the intermission, there’s lots of goodies a Pixar fan shouldn’t miss!
If you’re a fan of Disney Movie Rewards you may want to drop by Fandango to pre-order your tickets. If not, check for local showings at the official site.
Enjoy the double feature!
Update: If you went to a screening of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D Double Feature and did not see the Toy Story 3 trailer attached, please let Lee Unkrich know on Twitter. He’ll contact the theatre and set things right.

I just got back from our single feature presentation of Toy Story here in the UK and it was absolutely amazing!!! It brought back all the memories of my childhood (I was four when it was released and do not remember it at all, but Pixar was my childhood, I watched them on a constant loop on good ol’ VHS!!!)
Anyway, not everything was fantastic, nothing to do with Pixar its the idiot Disney marketing who insist on kicking the UK every year with their ridiculous changes!!!!
Why did I have to wait months for Up and only get one Toy Story without all the hardcore fan bonuses, like the TS3 trailer and the interval trivia and goodness knows what!!!!
Anyway, that’s a rant for another day. I absolutely loved the film and welcomed the chance to see it on the big screen where it belongs, the sound and image were crisp and sharp, I saw loads of things I had never noticed (even after at least 100 viewings, no word of a lie)
I thoroughly recommend that everyone goes and watches it (even with the rip off in the UK) the film is absolutely amazing and really shines on the big screen in the marvelous third dimension!!!
At my screening I loved it! I didn’t get any intermission animations, but let me tell you those of you who are waiting for the toy story 3 tailer won’t be disappointed. If you catch it at your theaters you’ll see what I mean.
Sorry about deleting the last few comments on here. We got attacked by a mega-spambot so I deleted the last 50 or so comments by default.
Does anyone know if they will show the intermission animations online because at my screening I didn’t get anything during the intermission and that 2d animation I heard about… I didn’t get it either… we just got someone who told us we had a break… 🙁
Lee Unkrich said on Twitter that the intermission animation is optional for the theatre to run. The Toy Story 3 trailer on the other hand is NOT.
Possibly the upcoming Blu-ray release might have it, or you could complain and maybe they’ll get it up, maybe another local theatre is running it. Sorry that had to happen to you.
Yesterday, I saw Toy Story double feature will show in Mexico (I live at Monterrey). However, I can not see the date of exhibition. Do you know that? Also, the movies will be on theaters for two weeks. Thank you!
