I’ll definitely be buying this with Thomas Newman and Peter Gabriel. I mean seriously, how awesome.
I’m more excited for the “Art of….” book though.
The thing though is I don’t really care much for Thomas Newman. First, with his score for Nemo, it still sounded like Randy Newman, which sounded a bit generic. I was hoping that Pixar’s new favourite (and mine too) composer Michael Giacchino to score it. Would have been a cool tease as to what he has planned for Star Trek. But I’ll really hold off judgement until I hear something from the new score first.
I just saw the movie,and i thought the score was beautifully done. It was really powerful in a good handful of parts in the movie….This composer MIGHT have potential. Im a Hans zimmer fan, so thats who i usually compare too
i seen this movie, its so romantic..and touches my heart!!! i love this and the soundtract i just wish to have this music..
track 12: the rocket departs with Wall-E and Eva is astounding: I think it is the single best ever rocket ship takes off and the incredible power which that requires- sountrack. If you have seen the Space Shuttle take off in person this is the sound track.
But today: I listened to track 12 : it opens and it is the USA under Bush/ Gitmo/wars/and the whole ball of wax/ and then you see images of Obama considering/announcing/fighting Hillary and McCain-Palin/Ayers/the workers / the energy/the dstruggle/ states start reporting/ they call Ohio/ theuy call the election: elation. Listen to 12 and think of the sequence.
