WALL•E Wins Big with the CFCA, But Can the Bot Do So at the Oscars?

Not only did WALL•E win Best Animated Feature at the Chicago Film Critics Awards but it garnered 4 other prizes including Best Screenplay, Best Original Score and the ever so coveted, Best Picture Award! View the full list of winners here. Congratulations, Pixar!

This is one huge victory for WALL•E which brings up the question once again, can our favorite little trash compactor win the Oscar for Best Picture, or even be nominated?

LA Times’ The Envelope hopes to give you some perspective. The ‘Oscarologists’, bloggers who are proficient in the top film awards, are quoted on their opinion of the prospective prize and if WALL•E even has a chance to get it. Read the article here.

    I’m confident it will be nominated for Best Picture a the Oscars. Now, winning is another story.

  2. This is really encouraging. Maybe WALL-E is actually in with a chance for a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars then.

    Why would you say that? Did I miss something? I thought Lou Romano was a friend of Pixar since he did the vocal for Linguine and he has done some artwork for Incredibles etc.

    Oh, it’s his comment alright. It’s posted on the site CartoonBrew.com. I don’t think many take too much stock in his opinions, though.
