After a short absence, Upcoming Pixar is back! We have a number of exciting posts on the way, including our review of Brave and the winner of the Brave soundtrack contest, but for now enjoy these stories from the past week:
Monsters University Teaser Coming on Wednesday: Although the film’s June 21, 2013 premiere is a long way off, the Monsters University Facebook page is teasing a premiere of the film’s teaser in a few days. Expect a triumphant return to the comedic dynamic between Mike and Sulley.
Brave World of Color Segment Launches: As previously reported, Disney California Adventure’s World of Color was given a Brave-inspired sequence on June 15. Check out a video of the impressive show below:
Brave Father’s Day Promo: In line with the Mother’s Day spot from last month, Disney and Pixar have put out another video for Father’s Day showing off the relationship between Merida and her father, King Fergus. Though not as effective as the previously mentioned Mother’s Day video, the bond between the two is shown off well here. View it on Youtube here.
Planes Delayed, Planes 2 Already in the Works: Disney hopes to expand upon the money-printing Cars franchise with a direct-to-DVD spinoff, Planes, in 2013. Though originally announced for a Spring release, the movie has been quietly delayed to Fall of 2013. Furthermore, a resumé from editor Maurissa D. Horowitz has unofficially revealed that a sequel titled Planes 2: Fire and Rescue is in development. Sequels were practically a given, but the title provides some vague details about the story. Fan-Made LEGO Up House: Modeltrainman from the Pixar Planet forums tipped me about his LEGO set inspired by Up. With enough supporters on the Cuusoo page, the LEGO company will consider making it into an official set. Take a look!

And for some awful news, Brave was put down to 64% today on Rotten Tomatoes…
I think it’s too early to know what score Rotten Tomatoes will give to Brave… In the first hours, Cars 2 was at 80%…
No mention of the new Cars Toon on ABC? 8C
Are you serious?! Planes is direct-to-DVD?! Oh well… I’m so buying it… and the sequel… :3
Oh, those mean rotten tomato people! X( They’re seriously putting the “Rotten” in their title when they put down Pixar movies… anything less than a 90% is not suitable if you ask me!
And congrats to mah buddy mtm! You’re moving on UP!
