Up Wins Best Animated Feature 2009 from NYFCO, BSFC and AWFJ!

As expected, more critics are praising Up in their annual awards.

It was only a matter of time until New York Film Critics Online, the Boston Society of Film Critics and the Alliance of Women Film Journalists joined in! Check out the honorable mentions below:

NYFCO Awards: Not only has the Empire State-based critics association awarded Up for Best Animated Feature, but they also named Pete Docter’s latest as one of the best 10 films of the year. The highly anticipated, big-budget sci-fi film, Avatar, went home with Best Picture. Check out the rest of the winners here.

BSFC Awards: The Massachusetts-based film critics association picked Up as their Best Animated Feature of 2009 in their annual awards! The BSFC is notorious for tieing WALL•E with Slumdog Millionaire for Best Picture last year. In 2009, The Hurt Locker took home the top prize, according to today’s announcement. EDA Awards: The Alliance of Women Film Journalists awarded Up with their Best Animated Feature prize. This is the first time the category has been intorduced as part of AWFJ’s EDA Awards. Best Picture went to The Hurt Locker. See the full list of nominees here, and winners here.
