Up Nominated for Four Critics' Choice Movie Awards Including Best Picture!

So far, Up is the best reviewed movie of the year, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that the film has been nominated for four Critics’ Choice Movie Awards!

The Broadcast Film Critics’ Association announced the contenders for CCMA ’09 today in what seems to be the ultimate culmination of critical praise and acclaim. This year Up has been nominated in such diverse categories as Best Animated Feature, Best Score, Best Original Screenplay, and the big one, Best Picture! The official breakdown is below:

Nominated for Best Picture: Avatar, An Education, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Invictus, Nine, Precious, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air
Nominated for Best Animated Feature: Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Princess and the Frog, Up
Nominated for Best Original Screenplay:
Mark Boal – "The Hurt Locker", Joel Coen & Ethan Coen – "A Serious Man", Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber – "(500) Days Of Summer", Bob Peterson, Peter Docter – "Up", Quentin Tarantino – "Inglourious Basterds"
