Cars 2 Races Into the Daytona 500!

NASCAR racers weren’t the only stars in Daytona’s spotlight last Sunday, Mater and Lightning were there too!

The Daytona 500 was arguably the perfect place to premiere the new Cars 2 TV-spot, featuring never-before-seen shots from the upcoming film. But the most wonderful thing about the trailer is that there’s no doubt non-racing fans will enjoy Cars 2 as well. Be the judge, take a look for yourself:

Related: The Pixar Times features a fantastic Cars 2 promo art gallery from Toy Fair ’11. Fans of 2D posters from previous films like Up, WALL•E and Ratatouille will really get a kick out of these!

Announcer Darrell Waltrip strongly hinted that he would reprise the role of announcer Darrell Cartrip for Cars 2.

I for one loved all the racing related cameos in the first one.

    @ last Anonymous :

Their is strong probability that Darrell Cartrip comes back, but at the side of Brent Mustangburger: a toy version of him was present in the Cars 2 toys revealed.
And also… At mark 0:20 of this video : look at the reporters… The one at the center must be Brent Mustangburger, but the one at his right… Does’nt he look like Darrell Cartrip ?

This was a highly promising trailer… until the potty humor showed up. C’mon, Pixar, we know you’re better than that! I’m going to hope that that was just for the trailer, like some of the scenes in the early and highly cringeworthy Tangled trailers. crosses fingers

That was an awesome trailer actually. Hope it won’t be a huge disappointment.
