Welcome, 2011! All of us here at Upcoming Pixar/Pixar Planet would like to wish our loyals readers a Happy New Year!
Thanks for continuing to stick with us for all the latest Pixar news. An end of the year post would simply not be complete without a 2010 retrospective. Here’s what stood out to us in the last 365 days:
• The Newt story made waves across the film blogging community. Later in 2010, Disney/Pixar released art from the cancelled film.
• Toy Story and Toy Story 2 made their way onto Blu-ray!
• How can we forget Blogger Day at Pixar? A huge thank you goes out to everyone at the studio who helped make one of my dreams come true.
• The biggest Pixar moment of the year was arguably June 18th, 2010. Of course, that marks the release of Toy Story 3. Pixar’s 11th was recently named the highest grossing film of the year, but you guys already knew that since we’ve been following the movie’s box-office every step of the way.
• Day & Night won’t soon be forgotten.
• The Pixar Treasures finally made its way out of the printer. Definitely a must-own for every Pixar fan.
We hope that 2011 is even better! With the next installment of the Cars franchise as well as a new series of Toy Story shorts right around the corner, you’ll want to keep it here.
Did we miss any essential moments from 2010? Let us know what stood out to you in the comments section below.

Monsters Inc 2 and Brave’s release dates were confirmed this year. 😀
And I think the Cars 2 trailer was pretty big.
But other then that, I think you got everything! Happy New Year!
I’m tempering my enthusiasm for Cars 2 at the moment. I’m sure it’ll be great, but I just want to make sure I can stay in the dark long enough to be surprised at the storyline. Maybe this will be the year I jet out and buy one of the charity tickets to view the film at the Emeryville studio.
