News Review UP

This is a follow Up to the "Disney•Pixar Up + Partly Cloudy Now In Theatres!" post from yesterday. As you can probably guess from the title, it focuses on the glowing reviews that have made Up a critical success!

Every single Pixar movie has been Certified Fresh at Rotten Tomatoes and Up is no exception! At this point there are just under 150 submitted reviews with only 3 being negative! That gives Up a 98% approval rating, tying it with The Incredibles so far! Earlier this week I highlighted a ridiculous review and barely covered how much great publicity Up is getting so I’m taking this time to quote major news outlets on their reactions to Pixar’s 10th feature film!

Select Reviews: "…the summer’s, and probably the year’s, most enchanting movie" (USA Today), "As in their finest work, the Pixar filmmakers have created thrilling cinema simply by rifling through its history." (New York Times), "Pixar has done it again" (Washington Post), "it’s a thrill ride, but a thrill ride with heart" (Arizona Republic), "Rarely has any film… been able to move so successfully… through so many different kinds of cinematic territory." (LA Times), "…deeper and more complex on every level than it would initially appear." (Associated Press), "If it were mathematically possible, I’d give it five stars out of four." (Rolling Stone), "exquisite work of cinematic art… the funniest, most touching, most exciting, most entertaining movie released so far this year." (Detroit Post), "never for one moment does it seems insincere or contrived. " (Toronto Star), "From the title onward, Up is a stratospheric success." (Minneapolis Star Tribune), "Pixar again raises the bar to wondrous new heights." (Hollywood Reporter), "To watch Up… is to be moved and astonished" (San Francisco Chronicle)

Read the rest over here, and if you haven’t seen it yet (yes, I realize it’s not out everywhere) take my word for it (these critic’s too) and get to a theatre as soon as possible! If you have seen it, you can still post your mini-reviews here, we want to hear from you.
