Does Toy Story 4 still seem too far away? Luckily, there have been some nice bits of Pixar-related news to help tide us over lately (apologies in advance for tempting you with lots of sweet merchandise).
New Merchandise
It’s not unusual for lots of merchandise to start hitting the shelves in the run-up to a film release. Toy Story 4 products have been cropping up all over the place, but amidst all of this, some other merch has been quietly making the rounds online.
Toy Story 4 Goldfish have recently become available – same great taste, but now you can eat Woody’s and Buzz’s heads. Great! Loungefly have also come out with a line of new purses and bags featuring an adorable Toy Story print.
It’s also lovely to see a past Pixar short getting some love – Funko Pop have released a new figurine for “Presto”. Alec Azam, the white rabbit and star of the short, looks pretty good with a classic Funko makeover.
You can also now get all three soundtracks for the Pixar SparkShorts “Purl”, “Smash and Grab” and “Kitbull”, which is amazing considering some of the theatrically released shorts from years ago haven’t had soundtrack releases.
Jessie’s Critter Carousel
The brand new ride at Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure Park is now open! Fittingly, this ride is inspired by Jessie’s gang of animal pals in “Woody’s Round-up” in Toy Story 2. It’s a lovely twist on a classic carousel – you can choose to ride on anything from a tortoise to a raccoon.
“Toy Story Drop” – Mobile Game Releasing Later This Spring
“Toy Story Drop” is a mobile game that should be available to download onto smartphones soon. It looks like there will be a lot of familiar characters and locations as you make your way through this classic matching puzzle game. You can watch a sneak peek of the game below:
