‘Brave’ Website Receives Major Update!

Brave, Online

Posted by Martin • February 21, 2012

The official Brave website received major updates today including extensive character descriptions and stunning illustrations.

Leading up to another highly anticipated trailer, Disney/Pixar has re-vamped the teaser page for the studio’s latest epic. Brand new character shots (with corresponding bios) will surely be the stand out feature to visitors new and old, but don’t forget to check out the "About" tab as well. What might come off as a simple description page (as has been largely the case in the studio’s previous promo pages) actually harbors a 2D ‘storybook’ illustrating Brave‘s set-up.

Take a peek at the website here.

A new trailer is expected to hit the internet in two days.
Brave opens in the US on June 22.

Toy Story 3 Website Updated With Unique Character Animation Loops

Official Website, Online, Toy Story 3

Posted by Martin • February 19, 2010

Toys come alive — out of Andy’s room and into your computer!

Head on over to the official Toy Story 3 website to check out the page’s newest addition; character loops from the TS gang! Even some of the newly revealed toys have their own animation for you to check out! You may remember something similar on the Up site only it lacks sound.

Each clip replaces the still shots found after clicking on a particular character on the home page. They work well to introduce visitors to each toy’s personality which is especially useful with the new additions. As you can imagine, I was excited to see Lotso and Ken (who’s as self obsessed as ever) included, although Peas and Buttercup still don’t have an animation. With all that said, my favorite to watch is definitely Rex!

Also, check out the new Buzz and Woody graphic (linking to the Toy Story 3 site) on Pixar’s website.

What do you think of this addition to the TS3’s site? Which loop is your favorite?

George & A.J. Now Available on Facebook!

iTunes Store, Online, UP

Posted by Martin • November 19, 2009

What’s "Up" with the storyboarded short film, George & A.J., that was (unfairly) only available as an iTunes exclusive?

Well, now this Josh Cooley directed vignette can be seen by everyone on Disney•Pixar’s official Facebook fanpage! George & A.J. is laugh-out-loud hilarious and certainly well thought out as it expands on the film’s background story. It’s too bad that this short wasn’t a part of the Up Blu-ray/DVD, it would’ve made for another great addition.

Plot: Turns out the Shady Oaks caretakers have only gotten a taste of what’s to come after Carl’s departure for South America. The elderly from across town have been inspired by Up’s protagonist and are wreaking havoc with the duo! Watch as old folks go wild in George & A.J. over at this link. Look out for some great Carl, Russell and Dug moments too!

Thanks to the gracious folks at Disney•Pixar for making this short available for free to the fans! Your thoughts?

Toy Story Page Turns “3”

Online, Toy Story 3

Posted by Martin • October 29, 2009

As the Toy Story double feature starts losing momentum in US theatres (more on that later) Toy Story 3 marketing is quickly creeping up from behind.

Toy has no small part in this shift between films. They’ve updated for the third installment in Pixar’s mega-popular franchise! New additions to the site are simple (so far) but a nice treat.

The updated home page includes characters that are randomly displayed everytime you refresh the page, you may want to do that a few times. You’ll also find that the logo at the top center now represents the threequel as opposed to the double feature. A brand new game, Woody’s Big Escape, has also been added.

Here’s hoping we get to see more online content from Toy Story 3 soon!

Pixar Website Updated To Include Toy Story 3

Online, Pixar, Toy Story 3

Posted by Martin • October 25, 2009

I haven’t experienced a news drought like this in a very long time. For that I apologize.

Anyway, the infamous Pixar website has been updated to recognize the upcoming release of Toy Story 3 on June 18th, 2010! You won’t notice any changes right away because the site is still themed towards Up, and understandably so. To see the updates you have to dig deeper than the homepage.

Click on the Feature Films button to see the new poster wall which includes the Woody and Buzz variations of the "3" campaign. When you click on the poster you’ll get your standard preview page. In’s The Theater section, you’ll notice Toy Story 3 has also been added under Feature Trailers.

Hopefully we can see a big revamp of the site soon. There’s so much potential, Pixar!!

Cars 2: World Grand Prix? [UPDATE]

Cars 2, Online

Posted by Martin • August 24, 2009

Is Cars 2 getting a subtitle? Disney’s latest domain purchases point to a big YES.

Jim Hill Media is reporting that Disney registered these websites yesterday (unconfirmed):

I’m really liking the new extended title — Cars 2: World Grand Prix. It’s very fitting for the confirmed plot having to do with Lightning and Mater’s world tour. To read more about the state of Cars’ multi-billion dollar franchise (including toys, online worlds and theme park attractions) read JHM’s full article here.

Update: This update is long over due. I would just like to comment once again that I’m all for the Brad Lewis directed sequel and truthfully look forward to the further adventures of Lightning and Mater. Yes, Cars is technically a cash cow but let’s have more faith in Pixar and trust they have more than just a money-maker up their sleeves.

Toy Story Series Website Updated! New Links; Character Poses

Official Website, Online, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3

    Posted by Martin • August 21, 2009

Opening Note: This post is meant for easy browsing but you can go ahead and navigate by yourself if you wish. The official website of the Toy Story series has been updated again!

Now instead of just being a countdown with an eager Little Green Man, it’s a full fledged site dedicated to Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 as well as related books and products.

You’ll find the typical links found on movie promotions online. The Toy Story 3 and Toy Story/Toy Story 2 in 3D trailers are in the Videos section alongside select Toy Story Treats minisodes. As you may remember, the TS/TS2 sections were separated from the TS3 section, in this update, it is now blended with the whole of the page! The character scrolling area is now in the Characters section. Each of the protagonists from the first two films have bios and download links, some even have new character poses. In The Movies section, you’ll find the synopsis for each film in the series.

The site also serves as a hub for Toy Story merchandise and miscellanea. Books and Products are separate sections but both are similarly set up to include the new toys and collectibles available based on Toy Story. The upcoming Toy Story Mania! game for the Wii and Toy Story: The Art and Making of the Film book are featured. Only one visible section is unavailable, the Games area.

Just a thought, the idea of the site seems very similar to the updated Cars page, probably because they are both expanding franchises. Expect there to be much, much more coming soon in the next few months!

Monsters, Inc., Official Website, Online, Pixar, RenderMan

    Posted by Martin • July 31, 2009

It is an event when Pixar’s website is updated, and an even bigger one when a major portion is redesigned!

The RenderMan portal of has just launched with a brand new design. The industry standard in rendering has been the leader for over 20 years and this website celebrates how truly epic that is! Included in the page is information for professionals and curious fans alike.

In the "What’s RenderMan?" section you’ll find information about the product itself such as awards it’s won/movies it’s been used for, specific technical specifications, FAQs and more. As you delve further into the site you’ll notice a selection of RenderMan products and links with information for purchasing titled: "The Tools." There’s also a "News" area featuring press releases, testimonials and the such. Finally you’ll see the "Support" section which is meant for those in the industry who have purchased the software.

There’s lots to look at but remember, much of the facilities on this branch of are meant for professionals only, so I’d advise you to please respect that.

Related: Speaking of websites, Jim Hill Media is reporting that Disney has just registered the domain MONSTERS2.COM, clearly another clue pointing towards the rumored sequel.

Toy Story Website Updated/TS/2 in 3D Trailer Online This Tuesday

Official Website, Online, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, Trailer

    Posted by Martin • July 24, 2009

The Toy Story website has gone through metamorphosis quite a few times throughout the years.

Now it’s time for yet another change, this time for promoting the Toy Story/Toy Story 2 in 3D Double Feature (TS/TS2 in 3D) that’ll be playing in theatres nationwide in less than 70 days!! The page itself prominently features a countdown for the two week only limited engagement. Below it you’ll see a notice that says a trailer will premiere online this Tuesday, July 28th.

As a nice touch you’ll also find a Little Green Man on the page wearing the three lensed 3D glasses, iconic to the campaign. Wondering where the cool Toy Story 3 preview site has gone? Just click on the Toy Story 3 trailer icon to direct you there. Expect both sites to get a bunch of cool updates as we get closer and closer to TS/TS2 in 3D and of course the highly anticipated brand new installment in the series!

Note: I still have not seen G-Force in theatres so I can’t confirm or deny if the trailer for TS/TS2 in 3D is attached. That said I don’t know if waiting until July 28th is the only option to see the trailer. Comment if you’ve been fortunate enough to see it in theatres or at Comic-Con. Speaking of, coverage coming right up.
